The tooltip thumbnails on tabs (when hovering tabs; to see if Preferences→ Advanced→ Tabs→ `Show thumbnails when hovering tabs` is enabled) are now structured as follows:
1. Behind all the `layers` we have the [Thumbnail tooltip skin] (bg with rounded corners and shadow by `pagebar/thumbnail/tooltip.png`).
2. Then follows the [Thumbnail widget skin] (empty).
3. Now comes the [Thumbnail image skin] (Padding and Radius for the overlay part below).
4. On top you see the gradient of the new [Thumbnail Image Overlay Skin] (Paddings and the upper radii of the gradient are defined by the [Thumbnail Image Skin] as mentioned)
Note that you can have a color or an image also for the `Thumbnail widget skin` and/or for the `Thumbnail Image Skin`.
Note also that you can define the text color inside the section [Thumbnail widget skin] (priority is [Label skin] - [Thumbnail widget skin] - [Thumbnail Tooltip Skin] - Color for 3D-objects from the OS).
In addition: There is no use for the [Thumbnail Title Button Skin]. But I think the well known [Thumbnail title label skin] (upper thumbnail title) can be important if your skin should work with older Opera versions. -
Note3:
The new entry `Radius = a b c d` works as follows: a is the radius for the topleft corner in px, b for topright, c for bottomright and d for bottomleft. The value 0 is no radius:

The new thumbnail icons you see as "Icon replacements for windows where thumbnails make little sense" - above all as tab thumbnails for several full panels (eg the history full panel), but also as tooltip thumbnails (currently stretched there). Note the new skin folder `/thumbnails` containing the new images. The 9 images are 128x128 px; partly called several times (13 calls from [Images]):

About the new Opera menu button at the top left of the pagebar (definitely to large, imho). Currently we cannot yet change to `Images only` and it looks strange if you have additional buttons in the pagebar head:

- the white O is defined in [Images] as `Main Menu = icons/white-o.png`
- the text for `Menu` you find in the language file as entry `606160820` (\locale\en\en.lng)
- the corresponding entry inside the toolbar.ini is `Platform Windows-Unix, MenuButton, SI_MENU_BUTTON_TEXT` in the section [Pagebar Head.content] -

The [Speed Dial Widget Skin] defines now the default sd background image if `Enable background image` is checked, but no image file is chosen. Please note also the new entry `Type = Bestfit`; possible here are also the other image types like Image, Boxtile and so on, see Section entries. The given image type here overrides the normal settings in the `Configure Spee dial` dialog (Bestfit, Center, Stretch, Tile) - but only for the default background image. So the normal settings are valid if you choose an own image file. -

A step in the right direction I think. The new [Thumbnail Tooltip Skin] defines now the separate base bg behind the hover-thumbnails on tabs (see also Thumbnail widget skin, Thumbnail image skin, and Thumbnail title label skin). Formerly this bg was defined by the [Tooltip skin], which is now responsible for the text-tooltips only. The thing seems to be in work; the new [Thumbnail Tooltip Skin] displays still black bg with clearbackground and the [Tooltip skin] is still not able to accept paddings or margins.

Something which still bothers me: the Mail header toolbar appears here in win7-aero still in a `strange` bright blue and color schemes have no effect there. I think the reason therefore is the change of the base [Window skin] to `Native = 1`. If I add an image to the [Mail header toolbar] (eg the same as for the `Mailbar skin`), then everyting is ok... -
Note3:
The new section [Mail Window Treeview Skin] concerns explicitely the bg behind the strips in mail treeviews. This section allows now to have the bg completely transparent too with `Clearbackground = 1` in [Mail Window Treeview Skin] as well as `Full transparency = 1` in [Options]. Note also that you can eliminate the stripes in all the treeviews in Opera:config-UserPrefs-ColorListRowMode - value 0 for streaked (default), value 2 for not streaked (thanks to TA5K) -

Please note the changed way the .attention images (blue dot) on the pagebar buttons are displayed now. Formerly it was a complete image which `replaced` the normal image, now the .attention images contains only the blue dot with some transparent space - defined then as Child0 on top of the normal image. So the blue dots are now represented by the new sections [Pagebar Button Top Attention Skin], [Pagebar Button Bottom Attention Skin], [Pagebar Button Left Attention Skin], [Pagebar Thumbnail Button Top Attention Skin] and [Pagebar Thumbnail Button Left Attention Skin]. -

Since the [Window skin] is native, the [Mail header toolbar] is no longer affected by color schemes (`Window skin` visible because of no images in the `Mail header toolbar` section). So I suggest to add an image call to the [Mail header toolbar] (`backgrounds/addressbar.png` looks nice there). -

Value: 1 is enabled, 0 is disabled, default value if no entry is 0
- This entry allows now to enable/disable the transparency for standard background elements (visible only win7/vista with aero effects). Sections like `xxyy transparent skin` are ignored then, even if in use with win7/vista aero effects (eg [Addressbar transparent skin] is ignored then and the [Addressbar skin] is in use). Please note that the known entry `Full transparency = 1` overrides `Transparency = 0`! Note also: if you use clones of transparent sections for intransparent sections, then the Transparency/Full transparency entries have not the expected effect (eg [Addressbar skin] is a clone of the [Addressbar transparent skin] with `Clearbackground = 1`)!

The new `combined buttons` allows to draw two buttons together - without space; to see on the new Back/Forward combination in the addressbar.
Note the new sections in the toolbar.ini therefore - the section [Combined Back Forward.content] contains the two buttons; you can insert there your desired two buttons (note also the `Button skin=Addressbar Button Skin` entry in the concerned [Combined Back Forward.style] section there, as well as the call `ButtonSet, Combined Back Forward` in the [Document Toolbar.content] section).
The new combibuttons appears in every case without title-text, even if you set the toolbar to `Text only`, `Images and text below` or `Images and text on right`. Note also, that for a buttonset appears always the things defined in the [Left xx skin] / [Right xx skin] you have set as `Button skin=xx skin` in the toolbar.ini.
In order to minimize the space between the buttons we can change the Padding right/left entries to negative values - both the same, eg -3 (in the standard-skin the `Padding left` entry for the [Right Addressbar Button Skin] is lacking currently, so the default of 2px is valid):

The new mechanism opens also other possibilities; please visit once Simon Houston`s blog (always a good address for tricky ideas!) - he found a way to hide a button if disabled/greyed out, eg the `Wand` button. -

Note also that the buttons in the pagebar tail have now the possibility to `sit` under the systems Minimize/Restore/Close buttons if the mainbar is disabled (at least here with Win7). An example for such a skin is Z1-AV69`s latest Opera Z1 Glass skin (it is no longer necessary to set the pagebar to the left or right; with `Full transparency = 1` in [Options] it works now always). -
Transparent bg now also for some problematic skin parts:
In the past, some skin parts had a black bg if no image/color defined (speaking about [Start popup skin], [Cycler window skin] and [Thumbnail widget skin]). Now these skins should be transparent if you set no image/color inside the sections. But the [Thumbnail widget skin] is not yet perfect - I think there the changes should affect the [Tooltip skin]! -

- The toolbar contents are defined in the toolbar.ini (sections [Find Text Toolbar.content] and [Wand Store Toolbar.content]).
- The toolbar skin therefore is taken over from the [Viewbar skin] (backgrounds/bar.png), the [Content block toolbar skin] appears as clone of the Viewbar skin (perhaps the [Incomplete message toolbar] should be a candidate for the same skin too). -
New section entry `Native = x`:
Value 1 is enabled, 0 is disabled, default if no entry is 0
Specifies if the section should be painted by the OS (1) or not (0).
- If enabled; Images or a color defined inside the same section or called via clone/child are then no longer valid (defined now by the OS), also Colorize have no effect, but other entries have the expected effects.
- Do not mistake this new section entry with the Native skin entry in [Options]. -
Changed behaviour for the section entry `Stretchborder = x x x x`:
Values in px, default if no entry is 2
- eg Stretchborder = 6 is still the old behaviour; excludes a 6px area around from stretching, see Boxstretch/Stretchborder.
- eg Stretchborder = 10 8 0 6 is the new behaviour; excludes the specified values from the top, right, bottom, left areas separately from stretching.
- The old behaviour is still valid with one number only, the new behaviour needs all four numbers (two or three numbers have no effect = old behaviour specified with the first number). -
New section entry `Clearbackground = x`:
Value 1 is enabled, 0 is disabled, default if no entry is 0
Specifies if the (toolbar) section should be completely transparent (1) or not (0) - transparent to the OS/other programs.
- If enabled and no color or no image is defined in the section you see the full transparency, but you can achieve nice effects if you define a semi-transparent image.
- Bear in mind, that a lot of elements `from inside Opera` displays a Black bg together with Clearbackground.
- Note also, that Clearbackground works with Windows Vista?/7 and it`s glass-designs, but can have unexpected effects with an non-glassy/intransparent design or with another OS; I think therefore we have now some toolbar skins twice, eg [Addressbar Skin] for common purposes, but the alternative [Addressbar Transparent Skin] for glass-designs only. I tried it first with the [Menu skin]; Clearbackground works with glass-designs, but displays a (hardcoded?) grey with a non-glassy design (and I cannot declare a [Menu transparent skin] by myself). Tried also Clearbackground for the already implemented alternative [Addressbar transparent skin]; works as expected with glass-designs and displays the normal [Addressbar skin] with a non-glassy design. I think we should use Clearbackground only in the new implemented alternative `transparent` sections, see below. -
