ramainz:
Listen to a sound-example from the new Ramainz-CD recorded live at the Continental in NYC (you need RealPlayer to listen to this song).
- Hop Around (1:32)
Sorry, I don't know the lyrics to this song, but I can give you some words from Gary Borress (from CEO GB Music, Ltd.) about this record in general:
"As the millennium approaches, we can reflect upon the many advances our society had made in recent years. It is hard to believe that space travel is commonplace, computers can run our lives with the press of a button and most musical artists rely on studio trickery to enhance the sound of their music. While convincing arguments can be made for the benefits of technological advancement, they have nearly eliminated the spirit of rock and roll on the airwaves and in CD and record bins across the world. The notion of a few musicians getting together in their garage and making it to the top of the rock world, without selling their musical soul to the corporate rock devil, is nearly unthinkable. Like a gemstone among rocks, we are proud to bring you The Ramainz, a trio comprised of Dee Dee Ramone, Marky Ramone and Barbara Zampini. Dee Dee was a founding member of the pride of NYC, the Ramones, and wrote most of the group's classic tunes. Since his departure from the band in the late 80 s, Dee Dee has recorded several critically-praised solo albums. Marky Ramone cut his musical teeth with the Dust (1971-72), a hard rock band he formed while still in high school. He then joined punk legends Wayne County (1974-76) and Richard Hell & The Voidoids (1976-78), with whom he recorded the classic album BLANK GENERATION. Marky joined the Ramones in 1978, just in time to showcase his trademark eighth-note attack in the cult movie ROCK AND ROLL HIGH SCHOOL. Through his 12 albums with the Ramones, Marky s style has influenced countless drummers who still to this day try and imitate his backbeat. New to the scene is Barbara Zampini, whos presence combines schoolgirl charm and a true punk attitude. Word of The Ramainz' formation spread worldwide through fanzines and websites and the clamoring for a CD soon followed. GB Music answers these screams with this CD, LIVE IN NYC. We will take you inside a smoke-filled club for a true heartfelt performance, which features many familiar punk anthems as well as a few previously unreleased songs. There are no overdubs here. What you hear is what the packed house at The Continental heard that night with no gimmicks, no tricks, just the raw emotion of musicians that have remained true to the spirit of rock and roll from the first note they played in their garage."
