You are currently viewing the interface picture gallery. Allow some time to load the pictures. If you have pictures of your own design, feel free to e-mail them to me. I will consider to add them here, too.

vypwif.jpg (11kB)

This is a picture of my design for the interface. Due to the rubber band approach it works for all Cobra, Vyper, Vytec, Mosquito, D3.

Calvin Brown with an unconventional approach for the plug. The fingers must be jammed against the contact pins of the dive computer during the data transfer. Calvin used veroboard for the electronic circuit.

jv1.jpg (10kB)

Jochen Vogel simply uses my ACW® interface for his vyper.

jv2.jpg (8kB)

The unused spring contact is just held away from the Vyper by adhesive tape.

wolfgang.jpg (14kB)

This is Wolfgang's perfect application of the Cobra/Vyper/Mosquito - DIY.

wolfacw.jpg (16kB)

And Wolfgangs idea for the Spyder/Stinger interface developed from the Cobra/Vyper/Mosquito approach.

rutger.jpg (14kB)

Rutger de Graaf's cute design of the circuit. It works but don't touch...

lampe.jpg (14kB)

Peter Lampe's design. Nice connector design with ferrules.

lampe2.jpg (13kB)

And here Peter's new design of the connector with rubber strap.

poeppl.jpg (9kB)

Michael Pöppl's design in surface mounted technology fits in a DB9 connector housing.

knight.jpg (19kB)

Jonathan Knight's application for his Mosquito. Simple connector design.

banko.jpg (11kB)

Michael Banko's Cobra solution. Ferrules are used as connectors, already known from Peter Lampe.

brummer.jpg (11kB)

Niko Brummer's handmade Mosquito solution. Flattened springy steel wire pieces make the contacts.

affonso.jpg (13kB)

Carlos Affonso's very interesting solution for the Mosquito. The plug is the housing of a floppy drive power supply connector. Smart!

marc.jpg (17kB)

Marc B. built the interface according to the old plans with the initial schematic. The spring-loaded contacts are in a transparent plug.

javier.jpg (13kB)

Javier Grinfeld used an old serial mouse to hold the elecronics. Good idea! The provisional plug carved from a Sub-D connector needs some improvement.

javier2.jpg (14kB)

Javier's improved solution for the plug. A real "snap-in" solution carved from soft plastic containing watch strap pins.

florian.jpg (12kB)

Florian Ungersböck designed a nice slide-in plug with spring loaded contacts for his Mosquito.

jiri.jpg (13kB)

Jiri Juks sent me these pics of a tiny Vyper connector.

piotr.jpg (10kB)

Piotr Wozniak made it really professional.

aleksi.jpg (12kB)

People are so clever! Aleksi Pihkanen's idea to connect his mosquito.

choi.jpg (17kB)

Another Mosquito interface brought by Michael Choi. The Molex connector used for floppy disk drive power supply fits perfect.

cont.jpg (9kB)

After all you may be curious about the polarity of the contacts on the above mentioned computers. The back of the Cobra is shown, but the arrangement is similar on Vyper and Mosquito.
