It is said that all the Hausheer-Families originate from Wollishofen. Due to the Reformation launched by Huldrych Zwingli in the 16th century, the familymembers who liked to maintain the catholic beliefs had to leave the now protestant Wollishofen. They migrated south and settld down at the lakeside of Zug where they found similar conditions.
If your ancestors originate from Zurich, Wollishofen or Kilchberg, and you would like to know more about these hence protestant roots, I kindly invite you to contact me. May be we find some common roots.

Having just discovered this interesting website, I might as well sign on. At 83 I guess I am more or less a patriarch of this branch of the familey. Retired from Medicine, retired as Commander, US Naval Reserve and retired from over 50 happy years in sailboating. I am fortunate in that my wife Lcile loves taking trips to sea and keeping up with grandchildren. Still hope to meet those wonderful people in Cham that I hear about. WTH

I am Maurice Hausheer's nephew. My father's name is Herman Hausheer and their father's name was also Herman. My understanding is that my grandfather came over to the US in the early 20th century. We have Hausheer relatives in the Basel/Ettingen area that we have visited, but hope to learn more.

Glad I found this site. I need to translate the German so I can better understand much of the information here. I am interested in identifying Hausheer families I am related to. My family has its origins in Cham, Suisse. We are fortunate to have a family tree that identifies ancestors going back to the early 1600's. In the United States, the name "Hausheer" is a very rare name, but there are several Hausheer family lineages that are apparently not related (unless the common ancestor is prior to the early 1600's).
I would love to hear from anyone who wishes to comment or provide information in response. Thank you.

Je fait parti des Hausheer descendant de Hugo Hausheer (mon arrière grand père), qui s'est installé en France au début du siècle dernier.
Comme Jonathan Hausheer nous avons un arbre généalogique qui commence en 1623 à Steinhausen (ce qui est amusant en regard de mon prénom).
