Gido, mit vollem Namen Guido Schnetzer, wurde in Zürich, in der Schweiz 1932 geboren. Er kam schon im Alter von 5 Jahren mit der malenden Kunst in Berührung. Sein Großvater restaurierte alte Möbel und deren Fournitouren. Als er wieder einmal eine sehr alte Truhe fand, die er bis auf den Grund abschliff, um sie dann mit einem egg-shell finish zu grundieren. Leider ließ er seine Ölfarben mit allen Pinseln neben der Truhe liegen und machte ein Mittagsschläfchen.

Guido nahm die Pinsel und stellte eine wunderschön gemalte Truhe mit allen Farben her, die er fand. Nachdem Grossvater aufwachte, war er nicht ganz so enthusiastisch wie sein Enkel Guido. Vermutlich zweifelte er am Talent Guidos für feine Künste!  Am Alter von 22 Jahren entdeckte Guido sein Talent eines Künstlers wieder. Er machte einige Ölbilder von der Stadt von Zürich und auch einige gemalte Portraits. Aber mit seinem Beruf als Hotelangestellter hatte er weniger Zeit zu malen. Nun im Ruhestand im Alter von 65, griff er wieder zu Farben und Pinsel um Landschaften, Meeresstrand mit Kindern die am Strand spielen oder Portraits zu malen, Wenn Sie seine Bilder betrachten, können Sie teilhaben an seiner Freude für das Leben die er mit den schönen Farben zum Ausdruck bringt.

      Gido, with full name Guido Schnetzer, was born in Zurich, Switzerland in 1932. He was attracted to artistic painting allready at the age of 5 years. His grandfather used to restore old furniture. Once he found a very rare chest which he was grinding down to the bare wood to put on an egg-shell finish. After lunch “Daddy” went to take  a little nap. Unfortunately he left his oil-paints with all the brushes aside the grinded Chest. Guido took the brushes and created a beautyfull painted chest with all the colors he found. After Daddy woke up, he was not enthusiastic at all about the creation of his grandson. He probably had no sense for fine Arts!

At the Age of 22, Guido rediscovered his talent of an artist. He made some pictures of the town of Zurich and some portraits. But with his profession as a hotel employee he had less time to paint. It is only after retirement at the age of 65 that he had again enough time to paint landscapes and some seascapes with kids playing at the beach.

When you look at his paintings you can feel his joy for life in beautyful colors.

 Guido Schnetzer, qu’on appel “Gido” tout court, né en Suisse en 1932, commençait à peindre déjà à l’age de 5 ans. En 1937 son Grand-Père qui rénovait des meubles anciens, trouvait un beau buffet, mais dans un mauvais état. Il le ponçait jusqu’au bois pour ensuite le vernir. Après ce travail et un bon déjeuner, grand-père avait besoin d’une sieste. Malheureusement il ne rangeait pas ces pinceaux. Quand Gido a vu toutes ces belles couleurs, il s’est muni d’un grand pinceau et commençait à mettre toutes ces couleurs sur le buffet.
Quand son Grand-Père s’est réveillé, il n’était pas du tout ravi du chef-d’œuvre de son petit-fils.
Peut-être qu’il n’avait aucun sens pour les “Beaux-Arts”.

Quand Gido avait 22 ans il a redécouvert son talent d’artiste. Il a peint des tableaux de sa ville natale Zurich et aussi quelques portraits. Mais sa profession ne lui laissait pas le temps pour peindre. C’est seulement à l’age de la retraite qu’il a eu de nouveau le temps pour se consacrer à la peinture. C’est à cette époque qu’il a peint des paysages et des tableaux d’enfants qui jouent à la plage.

Quand vous regardez ses peintures, vous pouvez sentir sa joie s’exprimer avec des couleurs vives et chaudes. Voici quelques exemples de tableaux qu’il a crée. Je suis sûre que vous trouverez aussi du plaisir à les regarder.

Tous les tableaux sont des Originaux paint par l’artist avec des couleur de premiere qualite et protege avec un vernis final.
