The Age of War
The Bloodthirsty General
Leave no building standing. Yes, those school blocks as well. I want no hiding places for those cowards. What? They are still occupied? Civilians? Give them one hour to evacuate the place.Situation
- Words ascribed to General Geralk Marik, shortly before ordering his artillery to raze the said school down just minutes after, as he changed his mind.
Loric
2459
Four years after the Hesperus raid, the first Lyran BattleMechs made their combat debut to halt the advance of Captain-General Geralk Marik, the so-called "Bloodthirsty Giant" whose brutal campaigns and flagrant disregard for the Ares Conventions had earned him the hatred of the Lyran people. Marik's offensive, which had already overwhelmed the defenders of Alula Borealis and Bella I, came to a shocking end on Loric, when his entire armored regiment and supporting units were annihilated by a Lyran 'Mech company. The epic battle - and Marik's gruesome death beneath the heel of one of these new super-weapons - demonstrated to the entire Inner Sphere that the Commonwealth boasted a powerful new military advantage and the will to use it.
GAME SETUP
A Marik player should attack a Lyran player on Bella I or Bolan (if Bella has already fallen during play) with the appropriate operation.
Attacker
As one of the commanders participating on General Meralkīs attack, the Marik player should bring at least two armored lances and three infantry platoons to battle. The whole force should have no less than 4000 BV. The player also receives the Generalīs lance plus some artillery offboard support. The General may not flee the field.
Defender
The Lyran defender brings at least two armored lances to the battle, worth at least 4500 BV and has the right of 10-15% BV advantage. The Lyran player receives an extra Mackie Lance which must be configured on the Megamek lobby to Deploy Before Round 6.
Special Rules
The battle ends when either side gets destroyed. If the Lyran player manages to destroy the General with a Mech unit in Physical combat he or she attains a Decisive Victory.
Marik forces attain a Marginal Victory if they manage to survive more than 12 turns. They attain a Decisive Victory if they win the battle or if they survive 12 turns and the General is still alive.
