The Age of War
Rostov Defiant
SituationForemost among those disputing Alexander's right to act outside the Crucis March was General Rostov, whose obsession with the power of the Terran March led him to mobilize his troops in defiance of the Prince early in 2540. The coup began tragically for the First Prince, for Rostov's first act was to order that Cynthia Davion be kidnapped during her goodwill tour of the Draconis March. The attempt was bungled, and stray laser fire killed Alexander's wife. The Prince was grief-stricken. In the campaign that followed, Alexander would act quickly, decisively, and with implacable savagery against the man responsible for Cynthia's untimely death.
Robinson
2540
The outpost on Robinson was Rostov's final defense against the forces of the impulsive Alexander Davion. The general's long experience in warfare would be put to test against the massive number of forces pouring on the field towards his base. Once inside his Mech, the general would let the battle flow its natural course. At the end someone would be down, and another would win, if not here on the field, in some insidious parliament court. That never changed.
GAME SETUP
Davion players should face any other house player, which shall be proxy to Rostov's forces. Once their armies are set as detailed below, the non-Davion player should attack Robinson with Event One-on-One or Team Battle, as appropriate.
Attacker
The attackers are the outpost guards of General Rostov, and consist of at least one mech lance (weight classes: MMHA) and an armor lance, bringingn togheter at least 8000 BV. The attacker also receives extra units and turrets, including commander Rostov. Deployment for the Attacker is Any, but all his units, save the tank lance, should be put inside the outpost. Turrets should be put on the lone hexes outside the walls.
Defender
The Davion player brings at least two mech lances to the attack, with a total BV of at least 9000 BV. Davion may have up to 15% more BV than the attacker. The defending player receives extra forces automatically with the operation, those should be configured on the megamek lobby to Deploy Before Round 6, and come from the South. The last unit is the Mech of Alexander himself. Once this unit is on the field, the Rostov player may issue a challenge for single combat against Alexander's mech. The Davion player may not refuse this duel, at most being able to delay the decision for one round by rolling more than 9 on 2d6 (use the /roll command on megamek).
