The Age of War
Destiny Approaches
SituationSeveral tragic misfortunes marked the reign of William Davion. First was the eruption of a major new war on the Capellan frontier, a conflict that cost the new Prince dearly. His only son Edward, a young field officer in a 'Mech contingent on Royalston, was killed during a hit-and-run Capellan raid in 2508. A regiment fielded by David Varnay should have been able to support Edward's unit, but they failed inexplicably to reach the proper coordinates in time to rescue Edward or his comrades from death. Subsequent investigations pronounced the commander of the unit blameless, though accusations of Varnay treachery were rife at the time.
Royalston
2508
For the young Prince being stationed on a dangerous border planet was to be expected of a Davion. If he was to be a leader and follow the steps of great figures like Simon Davion, he couldn't do less than to be face-to-face with the enemy. Without his knowledge, though, the young prince couldn't know that other, more sinister forces, planned to put his face to the ground.
GAME SETUP
Davion players engage another opponent from any other house, preferably CC, which shall be proxy to the Capellan forces. Once their armies are set as detailed below, the non-LC player should attack Fortymile with Event One-on-One or Team Battle, as appropriate. Set up the maps for BLABLA.
Attacker
The attackers is the Capellan hit-and-run force which is made of at least one hover tank lance and a light mech lance (no more than two Medium units), total BV should be at least 6000 BV, they may have up to 15% more BV than the defender. The attacker also receives extra units which deploy right away.
Defender
The Davion player has one light mech lance and one armor lance, with at least 5500 BV total. All those units should be configured on the megamek lobby to Deploy Before Round 6. The defending player receives extra forces automatically with the operation, which must be deployed right away.
Special Rules
The Attackers objective is to core Edwards mech, in which he is assumed to have died. The defender must delay his death for as many rounds as possible. If he is still alive by End Phase of Turn 12, the Davion side may automatically declare a win.
In team battles, players should devide the minimal amount of units among themselves. For example, players may agree to one being the Mech Lance, the other the Vehicle lance. Only one Edward should be used, and players should decide who will be fielding him, taking the others out.
