New Samarkand
2510
In mid-2510, Blaine Sorenson launched a powerful, but very brief, assault into the Combine. The reports of enemy advances prompted Kurita commanders to send units from all over the Combine, including half the Household Guard, to repel the attackers. By November, security at the palace on New Samarkand was at its lowest state of awareness since the Von Rohrs took over.
GAME SETUP
Any Kurita player may pick an opponent from another house as a proxy for the forces of the Von Rohrs. This player should attack any border Combine planet. This is a contradictory battle, as the attacking players represent the defending Von Rohrs forces, while the Kurita player represents the legions that in the end where loyal to the Kurita line.
Attacker
The "attacker" defends the against Blaine´s attack with a unit composed of at least four (4) units and a total BV of 3600 BV. They receive some mines and bonus infantry which should be assault dropped on the map.
Defender
The attacking player brings an army composed of at least two armor lances of 4000 BV or more and also has the right of 10-15% more BV than whatever is fielded by the opponent. Mechs may be added afterwards. The attacking player receives artillery support.
Special Rules
The most important thing for Blaine and McAllister was to insure that enough resources would be put up fighting against their forces while they went to take the capital of New Samarkand (Luthien would only later on become the Capital of the combine). The Kurita players grad of victory depends on how fast the enemy forces are destroyed.
- Less than 8 turns - Decisive Victory
- In 9 to 12 turns - Substantial Victory
- 13 Turns or more - Marginal Victory
- Lost the Battle - Major Defeat
The conditions above should be mentioned on the reporting event thread after a battle is completed.
