August 2006: Alan has been at Beatle Week, the annual festival on Merseyside England, with other big fans of The Beatles. The triumph of his week was to appear on Spencer Leigh’s show on BBC Radio Merseyside to talk about a song he wrote a number of years ago that he has had recorded by a group called the Beatlemaniacs, called “You Gotta Love The Beatles”. Alan had the CD produced, packaged and took it to the festival to give away for free! As all copies have all now gone, we have put the song for free download on the Swampdogs site on MP3.com. To stream or download for free, visit the “Listen Here” option on the menu and click on mp3.com/Swampdogs. You can save the image to create your own CD insert on Alan’s own page on this site. If you are visiting this site for the Beatlemaniacs’ download, please also listen to the Swampdogs song “Summer of Love” - it might just be right up your street!
July 2006: No sooner do we finish one album (see us on MP3.com and Betarecords.com) than we start another. So many songs, so little time, and we are already about 95% written and scoped, and 60% recorded. But this one is not going to be Rough Around the Edges!
April 2006: The final mix-down and mastering process is now completed, and the album is ready to go into the final production stage. As soon as it is ready, we will post the good news here about where you can get your hands on it....!
March 2006: The album is in its final stage of mastering and then we are ready to roll into production.
In the meantime we have been working on the second album, Barking n’ Biting for production at the end of this year or early next. Alan has loads of songs in the making, from blues to Irish folk! Expect the unexpected.
February 2006: Baseball, Baseball, Baseball! From Cards to Beantown, we have been working hard to create something a little different - who the heck writes about baseball? Hey, we do......
